5 steps to boost your linkedin

August 30th 2022

Recruiters see hundreds of profiles every day, what makes them choose one or the other? Those that are more than basic information, those that encourage contact and curiosity.

LinkedIn offers the possibility to showcase your profile, experience, recommendations and connections, and here we give you five steps to do it effectively.

1. Use a profile picture that represents you professionally.

We know that first impressions are important, so keep in mind that your LinkedIn photo will introduce you to recruiters and create an image right from the start. There are some excellent tips on how to choose the right profile picture on our instagram, but here are a few tips to get you started: Make sure the picture is recent and therefore up to date with your current image, if using make-up avoid excessive make-up, wear neutral clothes, and smile with your eyes!

2. Add a cover image

The second call for attention will come from the second image of your profile at the top of your page. What do you do to catch people's attention? Show an image that identifies your passion, surprise them with images and make it memorable.

3. Make your expertise attractive

How to demonstrate your expertise? Detail all the most relevant tasks you performed during the job and go a bit further, what you have excelled at and why they should trust you.

Avoid buzzwords, they are represented by adjectives that are used so often in LinkedIn headlines and summaries that they become almost meaningless. Examples include 'specialised', 'leadership', 'focused', 'strategic', 'experienced', 'passionate', 'expert', 'creative', 'innovative' and 'certified'.

4. Build your network

A very easy and yet one of the most relevant resources of LinkedIn is the opportunity it gives to synchronise your profile with your email addresses.

In any case it will always be done with your approval to send a request, and you will be the one to accept contacts who can see your information.

5.  Share relevant content

After creating your network, it is important to generate interactions, so you have to demonstrate that you are an active LinkedIn profile by appearing in the LinkedIn feeds of your connections in a way that adds value to them.

You have already taken the first steps to give presence to your profile and use it as a tool to exploit your profile.

Now is your time, work with these ideas and you will see that results are coming. Once you are taking full advantage of your LinkedIn profile, make this return to work a change!
