Our client, a global leader in the life sciences industry, is looking for a General Ledger Accountant (M/F/D) to join their international team in Cornellà de Llobregat, Spain. You will work in a dynamic, diverse environment within a company focused on advancing clinical technology.
What will be your day-to-day?
As a General Ledger Accountant (M/F/D), you will:
- Assist the Controller during the month-end and year-end closings.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial statements in line with US and local GAAP and internal policies.
- Manage Fixed Assets and analyze monthly expense variances against the budget and forecasts.
- Help prepare the annual company budget.
- Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (operational vs. accounting balances).
- Monitor activities following the closing checklist.
- Prepare tax returns (VAT, etc.).
- Assist in external audits and collaborate with management on ad-hoc requests.
- Perform backup duties for other GL accountants across countries.
You are the perfect match if:
You have:
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a similar position.
- Knowledge of General Accounting, Tax Law, and auditing.
- Organization, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility to cover peaks during month-end closing and ad-hoc tasks.
- Experience with Oracle or other large ERP systems (SAP, etc.).
- Strong teamwork skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- At least a B1 level of German.
